7 June, from the crew dude

Good morning / afternoon / evening / whatever!

RASP seems to be showing that today's going to be worse than yesterday but I guess the met man will give us much better details, and we'll see if a task has been set.  If the day gets canned, then the comp will have finished, and only 3 days will have been flyable.  At the moment, we have the more-or-less usual total overcast, with no wind.

I think Eric's going to fly anyway if conditions are reasonable, to test the bug-wipers.

Then we'll decide what we're going to do for the next 11 days, until the next comp starts (the main event!).

Stay tuned to this blog entry, I'll be updating it regularly!

Update 1 0850 - no gridding before briefing (normally, gridding is open at 0830).  Perhaps the day WILL be cancelled…

Update 2 1010: day cancelled. More rain expected.  Closing ceremony at 1400.  Eric's now installing the bug-cleaning filament on the bug-wipers, and will probably launch soon.  Meantime, the main hangar's been completely emptied of all aircraft and the bigger items still left over, and the local gliding club staff are sweeping the whole floor (it's accumulated quite a lot of dust and dirt over the years and presumably today seemed like the perfect opportunity to do it!  I'll upload a pic of the empty hangar soon.

Update 3 1330: the bug-wipers are now fully functional!

Here's the picture of the empty hangar.  Enough space for at least 15 gliders.

Cheers
