17 June, from the crew dude, part 1

Hi all!

Why is it, that, when there seems to be nothing to talk about, there is always a favourite fall-back topic - the weather?

Well, I guess it's no different when blogging.  Last evening, the rain cleared up pretty quickly, followed by the cloud shortly thereafter.  This left the area with plenty of opportunity to cool down through radiation, as if it wasn't already cold enough, and give us bitterly cold conditions this morning.  It's just under 7C right now, and forecast to get to no more than 11.  In fact, for the next 8 forecast days, the temperature won't get to 20, ever.  The wind outside right now is one of those lazy winds, it can't be bothered going around you, instead it just goes straight through you.

The worst of it seems to be that conditions might be conducive to a big task, so we'll have to see what is set at briefing.  Meantime, we can complete the installation of the bug-wipers after replacing the deployment cord with longer lengths.

Brrrrrrr!!!

Emergency update 0940 - sleet is falling!!!!!!  Pics to come.

Update 1030 - Eric's included a pic.  It's now just sleeted some more.

Yesterday we got a portable loo stuck outside the hangar.  A few minutes it got blown over.  I assume no one was inside  :-)

The airfield weather station reports temperature 3C.  I which I'd brought a beanie…  Hopefully I can get one somewhere.
