2 June, from the crew dude, part 3

Down to 3 parts for the day.  And this time Eric made me do some work!!

He dropped.  The line of gunk came through faster than forecast, and he ended up plonking out just past the second TP, around 60 km away.  So I hitched up the trailer and set off.

Just after we'd arrived, we bought a road map of Finland, and fortunately it included lat/lon lines, so it was a trivial matter to take a photo of it and import it into the moving-map program, and calibrate it.  Then all I needed to get Eric was the laptop and a GPS connected to it.  Done.  Entered his landing coordinates, and took convenient roads to get there.  Found him no probs, de-rigged and headed back home.

The glider's now re-rigged and in the hangar.  Simple matter to tape it up tomorrow, and for Eric to try again with whatever task is set.

Forecast is for cloudy conditions, with some sun in the arvo, followed by possible rain late in the evening.

Not much point in including any pics, Eric's already done that.

Don't go away...
