Hi all!!
The opening ceremony was a comparatively simple affair (compared to that for the Polish Junior Worlds last year) but well presented. The hoisting of the FAI flag, followed by some speeches, in English, then all the teams were introduced in turn but in no particular order while their respective flags were raised, then the Competition was declared open.
The rain held off for the ceremony, which went ahead as planned in the open. Since I was with the team, I couldn't get any effective photos, but others did, and hopefully I can get their pictures and post them.
The ceremony was followed by a social get-together in one of the hangars, with a meal offered.
Forecast weather for the first two days isn't promising, but again we'll see what the weather-man has to offer.
But, as from tomorrow, it on for young and old!!
